Some Important point of class 9 maths solutions Exercise 3.3 –
(A) To locate the position of an object or a point in a plane we require,two perpendicular lines on of the horizantel and the other is vertical line .The horizantel line is called the x-axis and the vertical line is called the y-axis .
(B) These two lines (x-axis and y-axis) divide the plane into four parts called quadrant.
(C) The distance of a point from y-axis is called abscissa and distance from x-axis is called ordinate.
(D) The intersection point of x-axis and y-axis is called origin.
(E) The coordinate of origin is (0, 0). The coordinate of x-axis is (x, 0) and coordinate of y-axis is (0, y).
