In your daily life you see different types of angles formed between the edge of plane surface. Angles are different types like, acute angle, obtuse angle, reflex angle, straight angle and right angle.

Basic terms and definition: 

line with two end point called line segment. If three or more point lies on same line , they are called collinear points. But if they are not on the same line then they are called non-collinear point. 

An acute angle measured between 0 to 90 degree, right angle axactly equal 90 degree, an obtuse angle measured more than 90 degree but less than 180 degree, straight angle exactly measured 180 degree. A reflex angle is measured more than 180 degree but less than 360 degree. 

The student also learn Adjacent angles, linear pair angle, Vertically opposite angles, corresponding angles etc., in this chapter.

Some axioms and theorem related to lines and angles class 9 ncert solutions and pdf .

Axiom: If a ray stands on a line, then the sum of two adjacent angles so formed is 180 degree. Remember that the sum of two adjacent angle is 180 degree. Then they are called a linear pairs of angles.

Axiom 2: If the sum of two adjacent angles is 180 degree, then the non-common arms of the angles form a line.

Axiom 3: If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then each pair of corresponding angles is equal.

Axiom 4:  If a transversal intersects two lines such that a pair of corresponding angles is equal, then the two lines are parallel to each other.

⇒ If two lines intersect each other, then the vertically opposite angles are equal.

⇒ If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then each pair of alternate angles is equal.

⇒ If a transversal intersects two lines such that a pair of alternate interior angles is equal, then the two lines are  parallel.

⇒ If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then each pair pair of interior angles on the same side of the transversal is supplementary.  

⇒ If the transversal intersects two lines such that a pair of interior angles on the same side of the transversal is supplementary, then the two lines are parallel.
